Very little is known about Alexander; he did not like
to talk about the "old country". Until recently, we weren't even sure of his
original name. When he immigrated, he changed his name to Alexander Smith,
and we had thought his original name was the Hungarian equivalent, Sandor
Kovacs. Finally, we found some documents about him: a CERTIFICATE
OF ARRIVAL, a DECLARATION OF INTENTION, and a PETITION FOR NATURALIZATION.
His name is given as Alexander Pinkusz (once misspelled Penkusz), with a home
town of Zombor, Hungary. No information about his parents or other family
members so far.
