One of a party of charcoal carriers, he makes a living by daily bringing charcoal to Dalhousie Bazaar. He is usually as black as the coal in his well-worn wicker basket He stands in bearded dignity before the Golden Temple at Amritsar. Round his turban is the quoit, at his side a knife, symbols of his martial race
