Finishing Beams

Can't put it off any longer: time to finish the roof beams. It would have been much easier to finish them on the ground before setting them 18' in the air, but they weigh about 1000# each and I couldn't roll them. If I was to do it again, I'd probably finish and exposed faces while on the ground, and do the rest in the air.

Filled the many knot-holes that BC skipped (in their "appearance" grade), sanded them down with 60 grit paper, then they got three coats of satin spar urethane. To trim out, the insides that have a gap between the top edge and the roof get filled with painted closet rod; the tight sides where the roof rests right on the beam edge get custom quarter-round-type molding, but 63½° instead of 90°.
