Gutters

The house gets seamless aluminum gutters from the same place that did my pole barn. The installer did a nice job so I had them back. On the first day they made all the section and just tacked them up, then started on the downspouts.

On the second day they came back to finish. The tacked-up gutters were permanently installed with SS button-head gutters screws (a special order I made them buy) and SS ferrules I made out of long tubing. It's a sturdy install-- you could hang on those gutters, and the SS will never lose its shine. They then finished the downspouts, touched up some paint that wore off the poorly-packed downspout components, and were done.

On the third day I finished the downspout drainage. On the West side of the house, they run to the French drain; everywhere else they run downhill. A townie was replacing his old Spanish tile roof; I bought 50 tiles for $0.75 apiece, to use inverted for spillways and covers. The ground was frozen solid on the North side of the house, had to hammer-drill a channel! Rock is used to slow the water and keep it from digging holes at the channel ends.
