These are Siwash Indians, and their name is a corruption of the word
"sauvage," which the early Canadians applied to them. Settled in
British Columbia they are engaged for the most part in fishing,
fruit-canning, hunting, the lumber industry, prospecting, and
acting a guides. Many of them have the good fortune to be exceedingly
prosperous people
