From under the three-quarter length tunic flow very full trousers,
not unlike those worn by Turkish ladies, and usually made of brightly
coloured muslin or thin silk. Though all colours are fashionable, pink,
yellow, and orange are decidedly the favourites. The smart little velvet
cap, heavily embroidered in gold, is worn at a jaunty angle, enhancing
the attractiveness of the costume, the wearer of which is often very
prepossessing, her large brown eyes of undisputed beauty being made
additionally languid by the blackening of the lower lids
