Gaily coloured gowns, topped by blue or scarlet capes, are the women's wear in Madeira. Both sexes affect the carapuca, a blue, funnel-shaped cap, worn pipe end upwards Bulgarian costumes are well diversified. The silver waist-clasp is a noteworthy feature, as also the silken scarf thrown with such careless grace round her head
