BABY BUNTINGS OF THE ESKIMO TRIBE SNUGLY WRAPPED
IN THE PROVERBIAL SKINS
The baby Eskimo grows up very quickly, and is given a miniature costume
of his father's so soon as he can stand on his sturdy legs. His high
skin-boots rarely leave his feet, for his parents pay little attention
to personal cleanliness, and water is seldom if ever used in the Eskimo
toilet. It is said, however, that quite tiny babies are sometimes licked
clean by their mothers before being tucked up in the bag of feathers
which serves as their bed
