HAPPY HANDS THAT CLAP IN MERRY UNISON

SYMPHONY OF ARMS IN A PERFORMANCE OF THE SIVA DANCE
Three young girls are performing an intricate figure of the Siva, said to
be one of the most attractive of Polynesian dances. Seated cross-legged
on a square of matting, they make all their movements with the arms and
upper part of the body; now and then they will sing some pleasant-sounding
old melody, for song with the Samoans usually goes hand-in-hand with
the dance
