PAT for DOS is built using DJGPP and a host of Unixy tools (bash, gcc, make, etc). If you just want the program, grab pat10b (binaries only), or to build from source, grab pat10s; both of these create a PAT10 top-level directory. The standard source configuration requires a number of additional libraries: readline, jpeg, png (and z), curses, grx20 and of course pc. grx is the video driver; do "dev grx ?" for options. To change configurations, edit config.h and update the top-level Makefile's DOS_LIBS to match; sorry, no autotools. To use PAT as an atlas, or if building from source and want to run the
demos and test suite, you will also need the blue packages, which include
enough data to draw small-scale world and country maps (for the larger
countries) plus the CIA World Factbook (for country descriptions and
statistics). To generate the set of country
maps, you will need all the blues plus all the higher-resolution reds:
then you can draw 170 countries (all but the smallest). All of these should
be unpacked inside the PAT10 directory. Click an eye
